One villa pick or pass.
A villa we are recommending or rejecting this week, with the specific reason. Sometimes the pass is more useful than the pick.
One villa we are recommending or passing on, the destinations we added or removed coverage of, one thing we noticed in the inventory. Mondays at 7 a.m. Eastern. Three minutes to read.
The newsletter runs 250 to 400 words, lands at 7 a.m. Eastern on Mondays, and contains no affiliate-link cascade. One opinion per issue. Eleven thousand four hundred readers as of May 2026. The list grew 38% in 2025.
One villa pick or pass. The destinations we added or removed coverage of this week. One paragraph on something we noticed in the inventory that we think you should know. That is the whole email. Some weeks the pick is a property we keep returning to. Other weeks it is a villa we have rejected and would like to explain why before the listing platform pushes it harder in search.
This is also where we test opinions we are not ready to put on the site. If a ranking is going to move, it usually shows up in the newsletter two months before the quarterly refresh. Readers who care most about the inventory push back when we are wrong. We read every reply and we change rankings on the strength of those replies more than once a quarter.
First name and email. No phone, no preferences quiz, no welcome series of seven onboarding messages. The next Monday issue is the first email you get.
Every Monday issue follows the same four-block structure. No bonus sends. No upsell sequences.
A villa we are recommending or rejecting this week, with the specific reason. Sometimes the pass is more useful than the pick.
Destinations we added or dropped, properties that left a platform, new entries on a best-of guide before the quarterly refresh.
A pricing pattern, a manager who has changed, a clause in a platform contract that did not exist last quarter. One paragraph of analysis.
Restraint is the product. Four blocks each Monday, nothing else.
The tone and the length. If you would not read these on a Monday morning, do not subscribe.
The villa came off Plum Guide for the 2025 season after a management dispute. As of last Friday, it is back on Onefinestay at $24,000 to $32,000 a week peak. The current manager has run the property since November 2025 and answers Sunday inquiries within four hours. We have moved it back onto the Mykonos ranking at No. II.

The new Porto Cervo listing on Vrbo Luxe is photographing well and pricing aggressively. Three readers wrote in about deposit-return delays from the same management company on a different Sardinian property last September. We are passing until the deposit pattern resolves.

The platform moved its standard deposit from 30% to 35% on March 1, 2026. Bookings made before that date hold the older terms. If you are comparing booking flows across Le Collectionist, Plum Guide, and Onefinestay this week, this is the new line in the sand. We have updated the platform review.

Eleven thousand four hundred subscribers as of May 2026. Average annual villa spend among the readers who told us: $48,000. Most readers stay between two and five villa weeks a year. The list grew 38% in 2025, almost entirely from word of mouth and from search arrivals to the best-of guides.
We do not sell the list. We do not rent the list. We do not run sponsored sends to the list. The only commercial content in the newsletter is a footer line on weeks when a sponsored article ran on the site, naming the sponsor and linking to the article. That is the rule and we have held to it since launch.
