Two things, and only when you give them to us.
Newsletter and contact form submissions. When you subscribe to the newsletter or write to the editor, we collect your name, email address, and the message you sent. The form is hosted by Formspree, which forwards your message to the editor and stores a copy on their servers (see Formspree’s privacy policy at formspree.io). We do not sell, rent, or share your email with any third party. We use it to send the newsletter you subscribed to and to reply to your note.
Usage analytics. Aggregate, anonymous page-view data through our analytics provider, used to decide which destinations to cover next. No personally identifying information is stored. We do not use behavioral advertising cookies. We do not track you across other sites.
We do not store credit card numbers, passport details, travel itineraries, or any details about your villa bookings. Bookings happen on the platforms we link to (Plum Guide, Onefinestay, Le Collectionist, and the rest), not on this site.
When you click an affiliate link and book a villa, the platform tells us the booking happened. They do not tell us your name, your dates, the property, or the rate. They send us a commission. Full breakdown on how we make money.
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, or any other jurisdiction with strong data laws, you have the right to ask us what we know about you, to ask us to delete it, and to ask us to stop sending you mail. Email hello@villasforkings.com with the subject line Privacy and we respond within 30 days. To unsubscribe from the newsletter, click the unsubscribe link in any issue.
This site is for adults booking high-value travel. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has submitted personal data to us, email the editor and we will delete it.
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will note the change at the top of the page and on the newsletter the week of the change. The current version is dated above.
